Show John Hatch Called By Death John M. Hatch, 78, a resident of this city for the past 14 years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Amelia Losee, at Provo, Tuesday evening. Mr. Hatch was bom in Carson City, Nevada, July 22, 1857, a son of Meltalr and Mary Ann Ellis Hatch. His father was one of the first settlers of Hatch Town, Utah, the family having moved there when John was still quite young. In 1889 he married Elizabeth Davis and moved to Pangultch where he resided re-sided for several years, later moving mov-ing to Tropic where Mrs. Hatch died In 1902. With his second wife, Almlra Coif, he moved to American Fork 1n 1922 where he engaged in farming. He has lived with his daughter for the past six months. Surviving, besides his widow, are five sons and four daughters by the first marriage: Mrs. Elizabeth Me-oham, Me-oham, John Hatch, Tropic; Mrs. Etta Swapp, Overton, Nev.; Mrs. Amelia Losee, Provo; Ira Hatch, Bingham; Joseph Hatch, Arthur natch, Spring-ville; Mrs. Rachel Richins, Salt Lake City; Francis Hatch, American Fork; three sons by the second marriage: Orlan, Merlin Mer-lin and Reld Hatch, of American Fork; 57 grandchildren, 30 greatgrandchildren great-grandchildren and the following " A JUJlUWU.g brothers and sisters: David Hatch, Los Angeles; Ira and Meltiar Hatch, Pangultch; Mrs. Wealthy Lynn, Mrs. Actavea Elmer, Mrs. Harriett Asay, Mrs. Myra Asay and Mrs. Rohandia Sawyer, Lovell, Wyo.; Mrs. Laura Barnhurst, St. George; Mrs. Maggie Sawyer Hatch, and Mrs. Mary Burrows, Bur-rows, Springville. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p. m. in the American Fork Second ward chapel. Friends may call at the family residence, 209 West Second South street, prior to the services. Burial will be in the American Fork city cemetery. n . |
