Show motion was seconded by Mr. Bez-zant Bez-zant and carried. Four Inch Water Main to be Laid After Mr. Harper, chairman of the waterworks committee, had explained ex-plained cost and amount of materials mater-ials needed, Mr. Bezzant moved that the chairman proceed with a project pro-ject of replacing 2300 feet of one and two inch pipe along the State highway with four inch pipe, using ' the pipe removed to connect dead ends in other parts of the city, providing pro-viding same can be turned into a WPA project. The motion was seconded sec-onded by Mr. Walker and carried. Mr. Bezzant, chairman of irrigation, irriga-tion, reported the WPA rock and cement project connecting the Grove Creek stream with the Battle Creek stream was nearing completion and that the men were doing a fine job. He reported the purchase of two large pipes, the cost of one to be stood by the Pleasant Grove Irrigation Irriga-tion company and the other by the city. Mr. Walker, chairman of city property, reported that the cemetery is receiving its spring cleaning and will be in excellent condition for Memorial day. He stated the motor driven law mower at Pioneer park has been completely overhauled and new parts replaced where needed and recommended the city provide housing accommodations for the mower, hose and tools used on the park. Mr. Bezzant moved that the council assign the task of finding ways and means of housing the mower, etc. to the committee on City Property. The motion was seconded by Mr. Harper and carried. Mr. Harper moved that the mayor assume the duty of appointing extra ex-tra police for Strawberry day. The |
