A family dinner was enjoyed by the Bishop Joseph H. Storrs family Thanksgiving day. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Norv'en L. Storrs and family of Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Miller and family of Provo; Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Storrs and children, Bishop and Mrs. Storrs and Miss Betha Storrs of this city. j baby son of Whitney, Idaho, spent I last week-end here with Mr. and Mrs. Eli J. Clayson. Mr. and Mrs. Owen Lynch and , family and Mrs. Phoebe Lynch of this city, with Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Peterson and family of Lehi motar-ed motar-ed to Ogden on Thanksgiving day and spent the day with Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Harbertson and family. The outgoing officers, Mrs. Rose Hansen and Mrs. Maud Briggs and several retiring teachers of the Third ward Primary association, were honored by a social given by the new officers and teachers Wednesday night of last week. The party was held at the home of Mrs. Rose Hansen, with an attendance of 26 ladies. A program and games were enjoyed by all, followed by the serving serv-ing of a delicious lunch. The Feality club members were guests of Mrs. Moselle Davis at her home in Lehi Thursday afternoon, November 23. Bridge was played, followed by the serving of a dainty lunch. Mrs. Doris Robinson won the club prize; Mrs. Lois B. Zimmerman Zimmer-man the guest prize and Mrs. Al-thea Al-thea Wing the consolation favor. Am. Fork Locals Mr. and Mrs. Leo Nelson, Niels Nelson and Miss Sadie Nelson visited visit-ed In Dividend and Goshen Sunday with relatives. Samuel Greenwood left Monday for Martinez, California, where he will visit for six weeks with his son, fJC. J. Greenwood and family of that city. Mrs. Ilattie Strong of Alpine has a new baby son, born last Friday, November 24th, at the home of her brother, Leslie A. Smith of this city. Mother and babe are doing nicely. Mrs. Mark Adamson and two children spent several days this week In Ogden with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Greenwood. Mr. Adam-fion Adam-fion joined them there for Thanksgiving Thanks-giving day. I Lenard Jackson, who is employed in Spanish Fork, spent last weekend week-end here with his wife, returning Sunday evening. Ten members of the local Lions Club and their wives were in attendance at-tendance Thursday night of last week at the ladies night party given giv-en by the Heber Lions club. Guests from Lehi, American Fork, Heber and Roosevelt were present. Those from this city were Messrs. and Mesdames Roy Greenwood, Martin Nielsen, G. S. Richards, William Chipman, Glen L. Taylor, Earl Holmstead, A. F. Gaisford Jr., Ben F. Moffett, Dell Singleton and Elmer El-mer Bate. Mrs. Kenneth Brown was hostess to the Variety Club members at her home Thursday night of last week. Dinner was served at 8:30 p. m., the guests being seated at one table. A centerpiece of chrysanthemums chry-santhemums and Thanksgiving favors fav-ors decorated the table. Bridge was then played, Mrs. Frank Brown winning the guest prize and Mrs. Clarence Grant the club prize. Mrs. Brown, Mrs. Harvel Bennett, Mrs. Warren Boley and Mrs. Raymond Adams were special gjuests. Last Friday night Miss Myrtle Wilde, a bride of this week was complimented with a kitchen shower show-er party arranged by Mrs. La Veil Special guests were Mrs. Zimmerman Zimmer-man of Lehi; Mrs. Pearl Cunningham Cunning-ham and Mrs. Dena Grant of this city; Mrs. Luella Carter of Provo. Eighteen friends of Mr. and Mrs. Lige Chipman were delightfully entertained en-tertained at their home last Saturday Satur-day night. The guests were served a hot supper and were seated at one table which was decorated in flowers flow-ers and candles in keeping with the Thanksgiving decorative scheme. Following the supper bridge was played progressively, Mrs. David ' S. Taylor winning the ladies' prize and Henry Chipman the men's prize. Those bidden were Messrs. and Mes- Mesdames James Chipman, Will-inm Will-inm Chipman and Lenard Chapman were among the guests of Mrs. Arthur Ar-thur Adams of Salt Lake last Friday Fri-day afternoon at a bridge luncheon. Mrs. Lehman McKinney has returned re-turned home to Fail-field after a two weeks' stay here with LaVell Walters who is confined to his bed with heart trouble, but who is now improving. A preparation meeting of the officers offi-cers and teachers of the Third ward Primary association was held last Friday night at the home of Mrs. Thelma Lynch. The forepart of the evening was taken up in a discussion discus-sion of Primary plans after which refreshments were served. There were 23 present. dames Alton Storrs, Henry Chipman, Kenneth Noyes. Davis S. Taylor, Walter Devey Jr., V. F. Houston, Le-Mayne Le-Mayne Despain, Glen Robinson and Stanford Briggs. Singleton, Miss Melissa Greenwood and Miss Beth Hutchings, and which was given at the home of Mrs. B. F. Moffett. The guests enjoyed playing bridge progressively progressive-ly at five tables, the high score favor being won by Mrs. Maud Thornton. A tasty lunch was then served at the tables which were centered cen-tered with bouquets of sweet peas. The main diversion of the evening was the playing of Progressive Rook, Mrs. Alma Olsen and Mrs. William S. Storrs capturing the prizes. A dainty dain-ty lunch was served late in the evening eve-ning at the small tables. The honor guest was made the recipient of a number of lovely gifts from the twenty-five guests present A shower party was given last Friday Fri-day night at the home of Miss Bernice Ber-nice Chipman for Miss Ida Wagstaff whose marriage took place Tuesday. Miss Chipman was assisted by Miss- es Mabel Huggard and Vira Bennett. The guests enjoyed themselves playing play-ing "Stung", the prizes for which were won by Miss Esther Wagstaff and Mrs. Glen Holdaway. A delicious delici-ous lunch was served to Misses Ida Wagstaff, Fern Robinson, Selma Seastrand, Sylvia Conder, Ida Leone Yancey, Esther Wagstaff and Mildred Mil-dred Gammell, Mrs. W. D. Stewart, Mrs. William Duncan, Mrs. (Abner Chipman, Mildred Chipman and Mrs. Welby Gammon of this city; Mesdames Glen Holdaway, Val Hicks, Dick Holdaway and Leola Harding of Vineyard. Mrs. David Taylor won the ladies' prize and Glen Sykes' the men's prize. The guests were Messrs. and Mesdames Walter Devey Jr., David S. Taylor, Glen Sykes, Lige Chip-man, Chip-man, Owen Lynch, Leo Van Wagoner, Wagon-er, Owen Humphries and James Chadwick of this city; Mr. and Mrs. Francis Goates of Lehi. The marriage of Miss Ida Chad- wick and LeGrande Miller, which took place last week, wras the motif for two successful social events. Friday Fri-day night, Mrs. Mabel Miller, mother moth-er of Mr. Miller, gave a wedding reception re-ception in honor of the young couple at her home. Fifty guests attended and entertainment was provided in games and a short program, following follow-ing which refreshments were served. Monday night Mrs. Alfred Chadwick,, Chad-wick,, sister-in-law cf the bride, entertained at a miscellaneous shower show-er at her home. There were thirty five ladies present. Games were played during the evening after which the hostess served a chili supper. The honor guest was pre-I pre-I sented with a number of lovely gifts. |
