Show Former Resident Buried Here Funeral services were held Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon commencing at 2 o'clock in the Fourth ward chapel for Otto M. Nielsen, for many years a respected citizen of this community. communi-ty. Mr. Nielsen died Saturday night at the family residence in Midvale of complications following a stroke. The deceased was born October 21, .1873, in Denmark, coming when but a child with his parents to this country. He settled in Utah County and for years resided in this vicinity. The family moved to Salt Lake two years ago, and later to Midvale. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Katie Cooper Nielsen, six sons and daughters: Frank, Sarah, Vern, Eleanor and Gra.ce Nielsen tinr! lVTrs Rella Steadman of Midvale; five grandchildren, also four brothers: George Nielsen, Hamilton, Montana; Charles Nielsen, Delta; L. W. Nielsen, Niel-sen, Burley, Idaho; and John Nielsen, Niel-sen, Salt Lake City. Bishop Lot Robinson was in charge of the services which were well attended. at-tended. The profusion of flowers attested to the loye and respect held for the deceased and the family. The opening selection was "Unanswered "Un-answered Yet" rendered by Mrs. Ora I Chipman and Moral D. Steele, accompanied ac-companied by Miss Dorothy Grant. The invocation was offered by Leo T. Shelley following which Mrs. Chipman and Mr. Steele sang "Beautiful "Beau-tiful Isle." The first two speakers were President Presi-dent Clifford E. Young of this city, and C. L. Warnick of Manila, and following their remarks, Ruby and Nettie Warnick of Manila sang "Say Not I Journey Alone," their accompanist being Lucy Wadley. President Wilford Warnick of the Timpanbgos stake and Bishop Henry Beckstead of the Midvale Second ward next spoke and closing remarks were made by Bishop Lot Robinson. The closing musical selection was a solo "Christian's Goodnight" rendered ren-dered by Mrs. Edith G. Young, with Mrs. Alice Stice as accompanist. President Earl S. Greenwood pronounced pro-nounced the benediction. Interment was made in the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove cemetery where the grave was dedicated by Bishop Lot Robinson. |
