Show i Basketball League Opens With Game Tonight Tonight will see the beginning of the basketball league games in the Alpine division of Region Three when Provo plays at American Fork, Pleasant Grove at Lincoln and Lehi at the B. Y. high. American Fork basketball fans will see some real games during the coming season if the flying start to which the Cavemen got off in the preseason games spells anything and it should, as Coach Ingersoll's men are a fast, smooth working combination com-bination and should have no trouble in the league games. American Fork, Provo and Lehi have been picked, in the order named, to fight it out for the Alpine Al-pine championship. The winners Of this district will er tn t.hA statu tournament which will be held in Salt Lake City, March 17, 18, 19 and 20. The runner-up in Alpine District will meet the runner-up in Nebo district to decide the third entrant en-trant from the two divisions of Region Re-gion Three. The basketball season has been divided up into two halves, the games in the first half will begin tonight when Provo high plays American Fork. Two games will be played each night, the second team game commencing at 7 o'clock and the main game at 8. The schedule of games to be played in American Fork is as follows: January 8 Provo at American Fork. January 22 Pleasant Grove at American Fork. February 5 Lincoln at American Fork. February 15 Lehi at American Fork. February 26 B. Y. high at American Amer-ican Fork. o |
