Show Pleasant Grove Locals Mr. and Mrs. David B. Thorne siKMit New Year's day with Mr. and Mrs. Alvln Gillman. Dr. nnd Mrs. Wayne B. Hales of Provo were Sunday dinner guests at the homo of Dr. and Mrs. G. Y. Anderson. Dr. Hales is leaving soon to do post-graduate work in the east. Sadie Mills, Una Miner, Gwyn West and Edna Fugal spent a pleasant pleas-ant evening at Miss Fugal's on Wednesday. Wed-nesday. Mrs. Ida Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Reed Peterson were pleasantly greeted Christmas morning by a long distance telephone call from their son and brother, Willis Peterson, Peter-son, of Omaha, Nebraska. . Harold Wootton has purchased the D. Miley Smith home. George and Lloyd Hayes of Rupert, Idaho, called on relatives here Wednesday Wed-nesday and Saturday of last week. Mrs. Mary Wadley spent Saturday and Sunday with her son, Harry and his family at Lehi. Ray, Mildred and Fern Carlson were host and hostesses at a sleigh-riding sleigh-riding party and a chili supper Wednesday Wed-nesday evening. Twelve guests were present. Paul and Carl Pack left Monday for Los Angeles, California. Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Downs returned return-ed Sunday to resume their studies at the U. A. C. at Logan. Mrs. Ole Christiansen returned home Sunday evening from Denver, Colorado, where she has spent the past two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frampton and .daughter, Mildred and Elwood Allen returned Tuesday from an enjoyable enjoy-able trip to California. Miss Margaret Olsen returned to her school work at Delta, after spending her vacation here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert J. Oisen. Leon Jackson was brought to his home Sunday from the L. D. S. hospital hos-pital at Salt Lake, where he underwent under-went a mastoid operation. He will be confined to his bed for another month. Mrs. Adeline Nelson entertained at New Year's day dinner for Mr. and Mrs. James Oler and June and Glen Oler of Salt Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. Hayden Holindrake and children of American Fork. Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Swenson spent New Year's eve with Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Gillman. Charles Warnick had his tonsils removed at the L. D. S. hospital Monday. Mrs. Ethel C. Lowe returned home New Year's eve after a week spent with relatives at Salt Lake. Reif Wadley, who is teaching in Arizona, spent the holidays with his sister, Mrs. Stanley Harris, and fam-iiy. fam-iiy. ; 1 Bishop Charles A. Cobbley left Monday for Denver, Colorado, on business for the Utah-Idaho Sugar Co. He will be home Friday. The staff of workers at the Co. Infermary entertained at a banquet Wednesday evening in honor of Hilton Hil-ton Robertson and J. W. Gillman retiring re-tiring county commissioners. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley B. Harris entertained at New Year's dinner for the Harris family. Covers were laid for sixteen. Jean Fugal, Wesley Rasmussen, Dale and Everett West entertained at a watch party after the dance New Year's eve for the Misses Beth White, Geraldine Macfarlane, Emma Em-ma Walker and Bernice Christiansen Christian-sen at the home of Miss Viola West. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Carlson spent from Thursday to Sunday evening here with relatives and friends. Friday Fri-day they with Mr. and Mrs. J. Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Walker and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walker of Pleasant Grove, and Ro-wena Ro-wena A. Doane. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Olpin and family fam-ily of Fillmore have spent part of the last two weeks with relatives here. Mr. Olpin returned home Monday. Mon-day. The Third ward M Men basketball team went to Holliday ward Tuesday night and played a lively game with the M Men of that ward, winning the game by a score of 34-35. Mrs. Bessie Lowe Cockran and babe of Provo, spent Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Alex Lowe. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar M. Cragun returned re-turned to Las Vegas, Nevada, Sunday Sun-day after spending the holidays with relatives here. The Windsor ward M. I. A. officers offi-cers and teachers had a lot of fun at a white elephant party at the home of the ward president, Mrs. Blanche Nielsen, on Thursday, January Jan-uary 6th. ' j The Manila ward practiced the Gold and Green dance Tuesday night. Miss Anna Fugal and Guy Hardman, stake dancing instructors were in charge, Anna also gave a lesson on dancing. Miss Angelyn Warnick returned to the B. Y. U. Monday to resume her duties there. Lucy Wadley and Lo-raine Lo-raine and Laura Swenson also returned re-turned to Provo to their studies. Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Cragun and grandchildren spent New Year's day with Mr. and Mrs. William M. Mower Mow-er of Springville. The stork ran a race with the New Year and won out by about 15 minutes, when a baby boy was born to Mr and Mrs. Roy Baum at Lindon Lin-don at 11:45 December 31, 1936. Mrs. Baum was formerly Mamie Keetch, daughter of Laura Keetch Fox. The Misses Ina Miner, Bernadine Richins, Ruby Williams and Lucille Fugal and Lowell Richins, Rhodm Christiansen, Neil Y.
