Show o County Sets Tax Levy Same as 1934 The 1935 Utah county tax levy was set at nine mills Monday, the same as the 1934 levy. The county commission considered a reduction to 8.7 mills, but a decision de-cision was finally made to add this .3 of a mill to the levy for charitable purposes. The levy is divided as follows: General fund, 1.80 mills; highways, 2.40 mills; poor and indigent, .50 of a mill; widows' pension fund, .29 of a mill; exhibition and advertising, .12 of a mill; bond sinking fund, 1.47 mills; interest on 'bonds, .50 of a mill; blind pension, .04 of a mill; old age pension, 1.07 mills; temporary tempora-ry relief of transients, .10 of a mill; erection and maintenance of hospitals hospi-tals and county infirmary, .49 of a mill; employment of superintendent in hospital and charity cases, .15 of a mill; salaries of county physicians, .07 of a mill. Total 9 mills. The Alpine district school authorities auth-orities request a levy sufficient to raise $174,132.45 while the Nebo district dis-trict schools have filed a budget of $159,800. The levy will be fixed by the county commissioners based on the total assessed valuation of the two districts. o |
