Show FERA Canning Plant Makes Record Run The FERA canning center made a record day Monday when they canned a total of 306 cans of beans. This was done using three cookers and with extra time spent in the preparing of the vegetables. During Dur-ing the past month the kitchen has been run under the direction of ladies trained in the use of the equipment, Mrs. Eron Greenwood and Mrs. Nola Hampton being the ones now in charge. One man is in attendance each day to aid in the heavy work. These workers have averaged 150 cans a day for the month. The kitchen is open six days of each week for eight hours a day and is for the use of those people who are on the relief rolls and have raised a garden. They can bring their vegetables, where cans are furnished, and they can be prepared for winter use. The building, coal and water have all been donated by the city. The commodities from the community com-munity garden are for those people who have no garden of their own and have put in time and labor to aid in the raising of the vegetables. To date there has been 1043 cans of peas and 400 cans of beans taken f-rrm fhiQ p-n.rdcn There are 62 families who have done some very splendid work in tlie garden and are entitled to the produce according to the work done. Frank Hunter has been the supervisor super-visor in the farm garden work and has been very efficient and has cooperated co-operated with the people in every way possible.
