Valley View 2 0 6 Pleasant Grove Recreation's soccer league continues, and the action is always fun for not only the participants, but also for the fans. Soccer looks like it's really here to stay in Pleasant Grove. It involves hundred of young people, and has been very successful. Standings and scores for the September 30 are : In the first and second grade league, LindonAspen beat Grovecrest 2, 7 to 0. Grovecrest 3 beat Valley View, 4 to 0. Grovecrest 1 beat CentralManila, 3 to 2 in overtime. In the third and fourth grade, Grovecrest beat LindonAspen, 2 to 0. Central ran past Valley View 2, 6 to 0. Manila beat LindonAspen 2, 3 to 1. Valley View won out over Manila, 4 to 1. For the fifth and sixth grade, CentralLindon beat Manila, 3 to 1. GrovecrestValley View ran over Orem, 7 to 1. In the final game, however, Provo ;jed P.G. up, and stopped their ice, beating them for the match j, 15 to 7. Valynn Storey served :f the points in that game. On Thursday against Timpview, J, couldn't quite get going in their ;: game of the match. Spring ::th served 2 of the points. In the ..ladgame, Hillary West served vints, with an eventual score of T. iaWinfavorofTimpview. Spring ill had i3 kills in a row helping ally the team. , HieJ.V. team just couldn't get :,ie ground against Provo. In the first game, P.G. only scored 4 points. In the second game, they scored 5. In their match against Timpview, they worked much better together, only losing both games 13 to 15. Denise Nuttall had 5 serves that added to the score, and in the sec-ond game, Shanon West served 7 points. They really played much better, showing signs of coming together as a team. The sophomores were ran over by Orem, losing 2 to 15 and 7 to 15. In their match against Timpview, though, they were the victors, winning 15 to 2 and 15 to 9. In the first game, Holly Jensen served 13 of the 15 points. She was backed up by a strong P.G. team, working together for the win. In their sec-ond game, Amber Measom served up 7 points for the Vikings. Next week, Thursday, October 3, P.G. will meet American Fork at American Fork. On Thursday, October 5, Mt. View will come to P.G. The team and the coaches would appreciate the communities sup-port in this, their first season in the 4A classification.
