They go back to when were first invented by Pastor Jin Nottingham, England. Home machine knitting is the fastest growing textile art, Aliene noted. "Modern home knitting machines have done for the hand Initterand non-knitt- what sew-- 0 machines have done for sew- - Pleasant Grove ship which she sells in her ing," she explained. The difference, she added, is that a sewingmachine assembles fabric while a home knitting machine makes the fabric. Just what can you do with a knitting machine? For one, Aliene stated, you can knit and sew to-gether a shell sweater in as little as three hours. Aliene teaches classes for the knitting machines. They also hold a knit club once a month for those who like to knit on their machines. Aliene was a nurse for 20 years before arthritis forced her to quit. She tried teaching herself to hand knit and then her husband asked her about getting a knitting ma-chine. That was five years ago. Aliene said she enjoyed the knitting ma-chine so much, she decided to make it more than a hobby. Her knit shop is in her home.
