That the City Council of Lindon City, Utah, shall submit to die qualified voters of Lindon City at the November 7, 1989 general gen-eral election the proposition propo-sition as to whether or not Lindon City, to- in Section 11-20-38 Utah Code Annotated 1953, as amended, with the Mayors of the Cities Cit-ies being annexed, jointly appointing, with approval of their governing gov-erning bodies, one director di-rector to represent their combined municipalities, municipali-ties, plus one additional director for each 120,000 population residing within the Cities being annexed. The 1980 United States Census shows that the combined com-bined population of the Cities of American Fork and Pleasant Grove is 23,086 persons and the population of the City of Lindon is 2,796 and the City of Lehi is 6,848, making a total of all combined cities 32,730. (If the Cities of American Ameri-can Fork and Pleasant Grove vote to annex, but the City of Lehi or the City of Lindon does not, Utah Transit Authority Author-ity consents that the 1989 census information as contained in the UTAH VALLEY DATA-BOOK, DATA-BOOK, Provo, Utah, shows the Cities of American Fork and Plea sant Grove have at least 26,000 population for purposes of Section 11-20-38, Utah Code Annotated 1953, as amended.) 8. That the relationship relation-ship between Lindon City and the Utah Transit Tran-sit Authority in all other aspects shall be governed gov-erned by the provisions of the Utah Transit District Act. 9. The election judges appointed by each City shall serve as election judges for the transit proposition and the City election officials designated desig-nated to deliver the election ballots and supplies to the polling places for the general election shall also deliver de-liver the transit proposition propo-sition ballots and supplies. sup-plies. The City election in be annexed into the transit district, the transit proposition shall receive: (a) a favorable majority vote of those voting on the transit proposition within Lindon Lin-don City; aad (b) a favorable fa-vorable majority vote of those voting on the transit tran-sit proposition in the Cities of American Fork and Pleasant Grove. 4. That the proposition proposi-tion submitted to the qualified electors of Lindon City on Nov. 7 1989 shall read as follows: fol-lows: TRANSIT PROPOSITION PROPOSI-TION Shall Lindon City in conjunction with the Cities of American Fork and Pleasant Grove be annexed to the Utah Transit Authority ("UTA"), a public transit tran-sit district, providing public transportation services in Salt Lake, Davis and Weber Counties Coun-ties and the Cities of Provo and Orem, as specified under the laws of the State of Utah; and. impose a sales and use tax of 14 of 1 to fund a public transportation transpor-tation system as specified speci-fied under the laws of the State of Utah effective effec-tive January 1, 1990. That the Utah Tr an sit Authority shall be designated the grant recipient of any and all federal public transit grants, except Section 16(b) (2) Grants of the Urban Mass Transportation Transpor-tation Act of 1964, as amended, which might be obtained from the officials shall deliver the transit ..ballotscast within the City of Lindon Lin-don to the Recorder of the City of Lindon for canvassing of election returns.
