Show Youth fast pitch clinic planned Program directors will be Jeff Wilson and Kay Thayne. Jeff will work as the youth softball commissioner com-missioner in Pleasant Grove and supervise the 1989 softball league for boys. Particulars for this league will be announced in the spring recreation brochure. Softball is one of the most popular sports in the world. A number of years ago when the LDS Church dropped youth fast pitch at which time not many recreation departments depart-ments throughout the state were in a position to sponsor youth fast pitch softball. Thus, . the lack of development of young pitchers has hurt the sport in our area. With the help of Jeff Wilson and Kay Thayne, and a number of other players, we hope to give young men an opportunity op-portunity to learn the sport. At the present time, there are a number of young men from New Zealand and Canada pitching as these sports are extremely popular in these areas. Questions may be directed to Jeff Wilson at 785-7033 and Kay Thayne al 226-2609, or the Parks and recreation Office, 785-6172. The Pleasant Grove City Parks and Recreatio Department will offer a Youth Fastpitch Softball Program for the 1989 Summer Softball Season.
