Show Hospital sponsors half-marathon stresses the importance of being in good physical condition for running the 13.1-mile event. Although a physical examination is not required re-quired to participate in the Half Marathon, Hartle encourages competitors to seek the advice of a physician if they are in doubt as to their physical condition to engage in an event as strenuous as a Half Marathon. All persons under 18 years of age must have the written consent of their parents or legal guardians in order to compete in the half marathon. Serious runners are invited to join in the fourth annual Whole-Hearted Whole-Hearted Half Marathon at American Ameri-can Fork Hospital on Saturday, Sept. 10, beginning at 7 a.m. "The Half Marathon is one of three races sponsored by the hospital hospi-tal each year and it is by far the most intense race to run," says AFH Administrator Craig Smed-ley. Smed-ley. "This event attracts many fine runners from North Utah County and other parts of the state as well. We invite anyone who is excited about running to join us." The 13.1-mile course begins at the hospital, passes by the training school and the Alpine Country Club, and then returns back to finish at the hospital. Registration for the event will be held from 6:15 to 6:45 a.m. the morning of the race. Cost is $6.00 with a T-shirt or $2.00 with no shirt. A trophy will be awarded to the over-all race winner with plac-ques plac-ques and ribbons going to winners in age divisions ranging from 12 and under to 55 years plus.
