Timp Valley Cloggers win honors Timp Valley Cloggers with di-rector, Lorraine Sherwood, took first place in their Advanced Line Dance performed at the Fiesta Clogging Championships held in Spanish Fork in July. This qualified the team to go to Las Vegas for the Grand National Championships. Their show team took third place also and many of the cloggers did freestyle for the first time and won fifth through second. These cloggers attend four ma-jor competitions this summer and all teams took a trophy home for first through fourth place. At the Mt. Nebo Competition the Sr. Team took a First place in Novelty, Line Team second place. Also Maryann Hopkins and Michelle Sherwood took a first place in their Freestyle. This com-petition was held in Payson during June. The most surprising award came at one of the biggest competi-tions in Utah, the Rocky Mountain Clogging Competition held at La-goon in May. The director's daugh-ter, Michelle Sherwood, and her partner, Nicole Swenson took first place in their Duet dance winning over seven other duets. This qualified their duet to go to Las Vegas for the Grand National Championships. Tears flew that day. Also the youngest member, Aaron Sorenson, seven years old, also took a first in his freestyle. The first competition, Utah Open, held in Sandy, Utah, the beginning team took second place in the Line dance, first competition for some of the cloggers. So the year started out great for Timp Valley Cloggers. The director's only regret is that since her recent move to Orem from P.G. has cost her the loss ofmany of her cloggers. Anyone interested in joining these performing cloggers, or just want to come learn clogging may call 224-162- 6 as new classes are now being formed. Eat better for less thisseasn ClearN.
