Show Resident promoted at BYU library , 7 i i Mark L. Grover, a resident of Pleasant Grove since 1980, has been promoted to the rank of senior librarian at BYU's Harold B. Lee Library. He is among 11 faculty members to be advanced in rank this year as announced by Provost and Academic Vice President Jae R. Ballif. Senior librarian is equivalent to the rank of full professor. "This prestigious rank is given to those who distinguish themselves as citizens of the university, teachers J of quality and significant scholars," Ballif said. Grover, a son of Milton Call and Irene Luke Grover, formerly of Malad, Idaho and now of Provo, is the Latin American Studies bibliographer for the Lee Library. He is responsible for all the ordering or-dering and reference help in the Latin American section of the huge library. Before graduating in 1965 from Malad High School, he was active in instrumental and vocal music groups. He received a bachelor's degree in history from BYU in 1971, a master's in library science from BYU in 1973 and a doctoral degree in history from Indiana University in 1985. Mark L. Grover Grover has written numerous articles for professional journals and one book entitled "The Catholic Left in Latin America" which was published in 1980. He is married to Deborah Reyna, formerly of Dallas, and they have two children. He served a mission to Brazil for the LDS Church. |
