' Bite racing enthusiasts of all ages nll participate in the 2nd Annual Homecoming Bike Race scheduled 'j Saturday, Oct. 9, at BYU. ' II Race chairman Darin Allred, a .J) freshman in business finance from Mankato, Minn., said the s race will be divided into two fc categories - one for women and one f or men. I Racers must register by 7 a.m. in the Cannon Center at Helaman J Halls, with the women's race jl beginning at 7:15 a.m. and the men's shortly after, Allred said Registration is $10 per person. Each contestants will receive a tee-shi- rt and bicycle water bottle for entering the races. Prizes will be awarded following the race. Allred said the course will cover the Helaman Halls' road area, which goes around all the buildings in the complex except one. The course also has some hills and good corners. Traffic will be blocked off for the safety of the racers. j t j A,F. Hospital j offers class in isj agg parent care "You and Your Aging Parent," is a new class being offered by American Fork Hospital beginning Hiursday, Oct. 16. Participants will ,, learn to better understand the needs ' J of aging parents, resulting in stronger relationships and assisting in the breaking down of barriers that might exist. This k seminar series is ,(' (feigned to constructively involve adult children in the care of their j aging parents, and to reduce the "stress of care" often felt by adult j children, friends and relatives. The i course costs $11 and will be held in j! education center at the hospital, Course instructor, Melany j Ikins, is a social worker with a J certificate in gerontology (the study j of aging). She earned a bachelors degree in sociology from the 1 University of Utah, and a masters I ee in social work from BYU. Since Mrs. Wilkins is involved with i. her own parents going through the 'P aging process right now, she can stare insights with class par-- fepants from first-han- d experience. jfl.li Mrs- Wilkins explains how class HP members will benefit.
