Show PGHS Marching Band awarded second place in Region Eight competition On Tuesday, Sept. 29, the Pleasant Grove High School Marching Band participated in the Region Eight Marching Band Competition held in Price. This was the final competition for the year. Out of the five Region Eight schools that participated, Pleasant Grove took second place. The judging is based on 400 possible points for music, 300 for marching and 300 for the auxilaries - color guard, dancers, etc., or 1000 points total. The competition was very close. The three top bands, Pay son, Pleasant Grove and Springville, all finished within 15 points of each other. The band is directed by David Fullmer. The percussion instructor is Scott Spaid, a BYU student rom Colorado. Susan Monson is the flag advisor and Natalie Fullmer is the baton advisor. Elaine Hansen is directing Orchesis and Stephanie Walker directs the drill team. |
