Show Jacobs elected to head area Chamber of Commerce If 1 "! ' , t ' ; . i I Harley W. Jacobs has been elected as president of the Pleasant Grove- Lindon Area Chamber of Commerce for the next year. Harley, executive vice president of marketing and bankcard operations for Deseret Bank, served the past year as president-elect. Other new officers are Sue Ann Maxfield, president-elect and secretary, and Marcella Walker,, past president. Members of the Board of Directors include Dave Faux, Craig Smith, Jim De Groot, Bud Eyerly, Lynn Roundy and Randy Hoyt. Plans are to appoint a couple more people to the board. Harley attended Central Elementary School in Pleasant Grove but graduated from American Fork High School in 1970. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1976. Harley worked for Continental Bank until 1978. He has worked for Deseret Bank since 1978. He is married to the former Loretta Rees of American Fork. They have three daughters and one cat. In his spare time he likes to bicycle, kayak and cross country ski. Harley said it would be his goal to provide the membership of the Chamber with an opportunity to know just who the other members are in the Pleasant Grove and Lindin community. "I i becoming associated with the Harley Jacobs Chamber, I was surprised at the diversity of the membership. It is not just a downtown merchants group," Harley noted. This year he plans to bring all the people of the chamber together to become better acquainted. The annual membership drive for the Chamber of Commerce is now underway. The Chamber would like to have all businesses and industries in the area join the organization.
