Hospital's 'Foxy Lady' winners announced At the sound of the starting gun, 39 "Foxy Ladies" started off American Fork Hospital's 5K (3.1 mile) Fun Run. 18:48 minutes later, Debbie Hansen crossed the finish line in first place. She was soon joined by Bonnie Wadley and Pamela Frost, with times of 19:46 and 21:34 minutes respectively, to complete the overall winner category. Sponsored by the Hospital's Women's Center, the race began and ended at the facility under perfect weather conditions. Ranging from 7-64 years of age, the female participants were followed by a Corvette pace car, and soon overtaken by a male runner who also decided to join the race. All runners were divided into age divisions to allow participants to compete within their own individual age groups. Prizes were awarded for the top overall winners, and to the winners of each age division. Trophies were awarded to the overall winners and division winners win-ners received medals. Age group winners were: 12 and under; Paula Roberts, 1st; 13-15 years, Pamela Frost, 1st; 16-21 years, Allison Dewitt, 1st; 22-29 years, Sally Mower, 1st; 30-35 years, Debbie Hanson, 1st; 36-41 years, Bonnie Wadley, 1st; 42-49 years, Vickie Birchall, 1st; 50 plus years, Janet Hansen, 1st. Next year's race promises to be bigger and better, according to Dennis Hartle, race coordinator. "We won't schedule it on a holiday, and we'll also pull some fast people with big names from the community." |
