Show Garden Club seeks flower show entries f ' ' . 2 T t : I . 7. -J V ' , j : ' - ' ' ' r '' ' ' . - " ' ' The Pleasant Grove Garden Club will sponsor the annual Strawberry Days Flower Show on Thursday, June 19, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the Pleasant Grove Community Center. Theme for the show is "Delights of Summer." The event is open to all who wish to enter. Exhibits will be accepted from 7 to 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, at the Community Com-munity Center. Exhibits may not be removed before 8p.m. All arrangements must contain some plant material and no artificial flowers or foliage may be used in the show. All entries will be judged and ribbons given in the various categories. The divisions include horticulture which has sections for roses, annuals and biannuals, snapdragons, peonies, iris, miscellaneous, cacti, shrubs, potted house plants and indoor garden. Division II is Artistic Design which has sections for the theme, tricolor tri-color which must include all fresh plant material, Award of Distinction which includes all dried materials and they may be tinted or treated, creativity which includes fresh and-or and-or dried or treated materials, senior high school, junior high school and elementary, and table settings. Theme class titles include America, The Beautiful, a display of color; Summertime in Pleasant Grove, an arrangement of favorite flowers; Beauty in Miniature, miniature arrangements; Strawberry Days Delight, may use fresh strawberries. Tri-color class titles are Springtime in the Grove; Tea for Two; A Fair to Remember, any holiday of the year; and Sunshine and Rainbows, showing contrasts. Classes under Award of Distinction Distinc-tion are Memories of the Good Old Days; Delights of the G Trail; Lady with the Lamp, patriotic but with no flags; Beauty in Every Growing Thing, weeds, grain, etc. Creativity classes are Flavor ot the East, Bonsai-oriental theme; Delights of the G Mountain, do your Vada Winters, left, and Eva Reynolds are pictured at the annual Garden Club Flower Sale. The club will sponsor the Strawberry Days Flower Show next week. own thing; and Green Thumb. Table setting classes are Happy Days, outdoor picnics, can use paper; Strawberry Buffet, in red and white; June Bride; and Breakfast in Bed, breakfast tray for two. Advised exhibits are Native Birds, Forest Service, Rock Collection and Garden Therapy. The flower show committee includes in-cludes La Vada Winters, chairman; Alice Simper, Faye Belliston, Margaret Holliday, co-chairmen; Donna Brock, table settings; Moya Told, publicity; Mary Varney, flower show schedules; and Margaret Holliday, hostess coordinator. |
