Show Citizen, Press, Review, Wed., June 11, 1986 - Page 15 1 Clouds of Glory' , iches the heart RCELLA WALKER j ie lights dimmed on the f "Clouds of Glory", this ' glanced at her watch in j iat the show could be over i "wo hours had gone by. It I ipossible. J y be the clue as to why this I enjoyable show. It moves i with no long pauses and V audience along with it in anticipation. I of Glory" is an LDS play, anyone would enjoy it. j references are few. y work is mentioned but is ; tart of the production. nission the audience is left Las to what has happened ) one's mind races ahead to ;ure out what the outcome U be. There are all kinds of es. , i!y was written by Ruth and ,We and was a forerunner ! )f the later LDS musicals 4e received such acclaim, .. 'Saturday's Warrior" and irn on Earth". This & n, however, is not a jalthough music plays a I in the plot. the first things a viewer n this play is that the s just like that we hear at :h day. It is warm, very 'Versus !, and very touching. The al of the children, Butch and bring a great deal of d !...,d realism to the play, estgj Toles are played by Wes rensVid Helen Stoddard Black. caf jarring roles are the parts of Jeanie and Tim, played by Janet Panhorst and Brad Reneer. Their love begins in the and, believeably, takes up again on earth. Janet is the more experienced performer of the two, but Brad does a commendable job in a tough role. Bonnie Pence, who plays the mother, is very enjoyable and convincing, as is Catherine Boone, who plays Jeanie's sister, Debbie. The play would not be the fun it is if it were not for Allen, played by John Renstrom, and Debbie's romance, of sorts. It is typical teenage and entirely delightful. The entrance of Te Leni D. Orr as Susan brought a breath of sunshine and her enthusiasm almost took ones breath away. Notable performances are given by Doug Merrill as Clyde who stays in character very well, LeRoy Wilcox who plays grandpa, and Jodi Hodson who is Beverly. A large audience was on hand for the Monday production and they responded warmly with laughter and applause. One especially nice thing about this production, is that it is easy to hear the characters speak their parts. "Clouds of Glory" can be seen at the Valley Center Playhouse, 780 N. 200 East, Lindon, each Friday, Saturday, and Monday until June 30, at 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the door. Keith Renstrom is the producer of the show, Jody Renstrom is the director and John Renstrom does the lights and sound. 1 1:35 0 GD ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT O GD ROCKFORD FILES 11:45DTV 11:50 S3 MOVIE "Escape From Zahrain" (1962, Adventure) Sal Mineo, Yul Brynner. 12:00 O 0) HEART OF THE DRAGON (21) ARISTOCRATS 3 SPORTSLOOK S ADVENTURES OF OZZIE & HARRIET S3 MOVIE "Paul And Michelle" (1974, Drama) Anicee Alvina, Sean 8ury. gj MOVIE "Nutcracker" (1984, Drama) Joan Collins, Carol White.
