Show Grovecrest top spellers " . S ; - i : 1 :v . V." i i 1.1 -X 4 . -1 .A " " v ' ' ; f '7 j The students at Grovecrest Elementary were involved in an exciting event last Thursday. They held their annual spelling bee. When the spelling bee started there were 73 contestants. After one-and-one-half hours of eliminating contestants the competition com-petition was narrowed to three girls, then two-Judy Lin and Karen Jones. Karen finally misspelled the word miscible. In order for Judy to win she had to spell miscible and mohair correctly. She accomplished that task and was declared the winner of the spelling bee. Judy will now compete in the rliiitrict snellintf bee at Northridue Elementary March 21st. Good luck, Judy! Karen Jones is the second place winner and Tana Federsen won third place. They are proud of all the students who participated in the spelling bee. They are all winners. Judy Karen and Tana were presented books for winning first, second and third place in the spelling bee. Tom Dell, Anje Fox, John Bingham, Andy Spencer, Christie Cox, Justin Barlow and Jason Giles were presented roadrunner t-shirts for being among the last 10 to be eliminated in the SDelling bee. Grovecrest Spelling Bee winners are, L-Ii, Karen Jones, Judy Hin and Jana Pedersen. |
