Show I l I ..TV , j r Ci 7 J New members of the Pleasant Grove Eighth Ward Bishopric are, front L-K, Lynn Sanders, San-ders, Bishop Ronald Firth, and Terry Mills. Back, Larry Goff, Thomas Merrill and Kent Edde. Absent are James Raile, Jay Fidel and Tim Pierce. Ronald Firth named as bishop is a graduate of BYU with a degree in accounting. He is married to the former Lucy Black and they have six children, Keri, Ryan, Christy, Eric and twins, Marcus and Lyndsey. Tim is a CPA and is employed with Price Waterhouse. He enjoys all sports, especially golf, baseball, racketall and playing baseball with his children. He likes to help his dad on the ranch in Aberdeen and enjoys horse back riding while there. James Rayle is statistical and welfare clerk. He was born in Joplin, Mo. He joined the LDS church when he was nine years old. Jim joined the Navy the day after Pearl Harbor in 1941 and served for six vears. Ronald D Firth has been sustained as bishop of the Pleasant Grove Eighth Ward along with Lynn D. Sanders as first counselor and Terry , S. Mills as second counselor. 1 Bishop Firth replaces Bishop Ralph Pitts who was released. The new bishop was born in Bothwell, Utah in Box Elder County. He attended school in Bothwell and ! Bear River High. He is a graduate of Utah State University and received i his Masters Degree from BYU. j Bishop Firth is a seminary I teacher in Pleasant Grove. He has taught in the seminary program for 25 years, 19 of those years in Pleasant Grove. He loves young people and teaching them. He is married to the former Marie Grove High School and seminary. He served a mission to Virginia, North Carolina. In 1975 he graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in education. He is currently employed by the State of Utah working in the department of Data Processing. He and his wife, Christi Lynn, are the parents of three children, Devin, Kelley and Meghan. Larry Goff is the ward clerk. He is employed by Safeway and H & R Block. He and his wife, Pat, are the parents of four sons, Joey, Danny, Davy and Matthew. Thomas Merrill is the membership mem-bership clerk. He has lived in the Eighth Ward for six vears. He was He graduated from Joplin Business College with the highest honors recroded at the time. He is employed at Geneva Steel and has worked there for 38 years. He enjoys singing with his ward choir, playing the organ and piano. Jim likes to ride his motorbike and read Louis L'Amour classics. He and his wife, the former Vida ' Kenison, have six children, Lois 1 Rice, Alberta, Canada; Mary Ann 1 Edwards, Clearfield; Bruce, Salt 1 Lake City; Bryan, Boise, Idaho; ; Jackie, Salt Lake City; and Janine Loveless, Phoenix, Arizona. They have nine grandchildren. Manning and they are the parents of Mark, Pocatello, Idaho; Shaura Ann Meservy, Severn, Maryland; Jason ! who is in the MTC prior to his J departure to the Portugal, Lisbon j Mission; and Kimberly, 7, Pleasant Grove. He has three and two-thirds grandchildren. ! He enjoys camping with his family j and friends, riding his motorbike, gardening and keeping his yard green and attractive. Lynn was born in Ogden and lived in Centerville, Utah. He moved to . Pleasant Grove in 1981 and works for Pioneer Wholesale Supply Co. as a salesman. He and his wife, Sandra, have five children. He has previously served as a scoutmaster, Sunday School president, various callings in the Seventies Quorum and others. Terry was raised in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant born and raised in Arizona and attended at-tended the University of Arizona and BYU. The father of three boys, Thomas manages the chemical support department of Signetics Corporation in Orem. Jay Fidel is executive secretary. He was born in North Platte, Nebraska and raised in Albuquerque, N.M. He has been a resident of Utah County since 1971 and of Pleasant Grove since 1977. He is a graduate of BYU with a BA in Criminal Justice Administration. He is employed as a District Manager with the Utah State Office of Recovery Services. He is married to the former Sandra Bahr of Idaho Falls, Idaho. They have five daughters. Tim Pierce is financial clerk. He was born in Provo but spent his growing up years in Aberdeen, Idaho. He attended school there and Kent Edde is historical clerk. He is married to the former April Trun-nell. Trun-nell. They have 11 children and are expecting number 12 in August. He works in sales and enjoys sports, flying and playing with his children. |
