Shaun Bone Kim Colby Timpanogos District announces plans for sustaining membership drive funds through the year, which in turn would result in an improve program for the boys in the district and the council. Also, all tributions m to the Boy Scouts are lax deductible. Additional information about the business drive and "The Scout Pledge" may be obtained from any of the hundreds of volunteers who will be working on SME between now and Nov. 16, from Allan Zabel District Finance Chairman, or frorri the Scout office. On Saturday, Nov. 16, hundreds of volunteers in the Timpanogos District of the Utah National Parks Council will conduct a door-to-do- SME drive to raise funds to operate the council during 1986. Increased growth in enrollment of boys is placing ever higher demands on the council staff and facilities. The Utah National Parks Council is now ranked as the ninth largest council in the U.S., with over 38,000 boys enrolled in scouting. The Timpanogos District, com-prised of the area from 800 North Orem to Pleasant Grove and Cedar Hills, is the largest district in the Utah National Parks Council and serves over 3500 boys, with 1300 volunteer adult leaders. The district is presently con-ducting an SME drive among the businesses located within the boundaries of the district. At the conclusion of the business drive, the family drive will take place on the morning of Nov. 16, when volun-teers will contact every family in the district to complete the SME drive in the district. "The Scout Pledge," a new aid to SME collection, was announced this year by the Council. "The Scout Pledge" is an authorization by an individual to have a certain amount of money transferred from his checking or savings account to the council each month or each quarter. The minimum amount that can be handled on this program is $3 per month. "The Scout Pledge is automatic, so you need not be contacted regularly for SME each year," reported Allan Zabel, Finance Chairman for the Timpanogos District. "You may designate when the first contribution is to take place and you may terminate the automatic billing at any time by simply contacting the scout office in Provo. The idea is simply to make it easier for people to contribute to scouting, much like they do for other organizations through payroll deduction," he said. Many people will find it easier to make a regualr monthly con-tribution than to make a single lump sum donation each year. This could mean the donation of more Margie Hancock named as Universal Credit Union office manager in Orem few' Ws Wrvl The Universal Campus Credit Union has named Margie Hancock of Pleasant Grove as the new manager of the Orem Branch.
