Paul Schoonover is the new coach. He has helped the players improve their fundamental skills and strategy for the matches. The Vikings are turnrng into a power in Region 8 tennis. David Jacklin is playing number one singles and is undefeated in Region play. In the number two spot is Mike Simpson with Scott Beagley solid in the number three spot. Brady Harris and Mike Clark are playing number one doubles with Norman Tree and Craig Nelson in the number two doubles spot. This lineup should make Pleasant Grove a strong force in the Region Tournament with a chance to do well at State. Wildlife Board to amend fishing proclamation The Utah Wildlife Board will meet April 27 at 1:30 p.m. in the Salt Lake office of the Division of Wildlife Resources, 1596 W. North Temple, ' to consider amendments to the fishing proclamation, including new regulations for Lake Powell. DWR fisheries biologists want striped bass limits to be increased from six to 10 fish, with no more than two over 24 inches in length. They cite decreased populations of threadfin shad, the stripers prin-cipal forage fish, as one reason for the proposed change. Biologists say an overabundance of small stripers in the lake is causing the problem. An overharvest of trophy-size- d stripers led to the proposed restriction on taking larger fish. The Board will also review the proclamation governing private fish installations. The meeting is open to the public.
