Show Cedar Hills elects three, but says no to bond issues i Cedar Hills residents Mark : Memmott, Steve Wood and Greg ,' Harris enjoyed victory Tuesday . night in being elected to the council in that town. The two bond elections, however, did not enjoy such victory. Memmott, 111 votes, and Wood, 79 votes, defeated Margaret Susan Hurley with 75 votes for a four-year term on the" town council. Greg Harris, a write-in candidate, received 83 votes to defeat Judy Runolfson with 45 for the two-year seat. Memmott was re-elected to his own seat on the council. Wood was elected to the seat vacated by Ray Lane, and Greg Harris filled the seat formally filled by Don McPherson. An $80,000 bond for construction of a civic center and fire station was solidly defeated, said town recorder Margaret Hurley. A $50,000 proposed extension of Cedar Hills Drive one mile west to meet the Utah State Training school road was, according to . Hurley, "narrowly defeated, 67 to 80." Max Adams will serve another . two years as the appointed mayor of the town. Adams was appointed to that position when former Mayor Richard Turn bow resigned the , --position when he accepted a job in Las Vegas. |
