Howard Pymm, and Von Gary Keelch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Keelch, all of Pleasant Grove, will be married Saturday, November 21, in Ihe Sail Lake LDS Temple. They will be honored at a reception thai evening in the Manila Slake House, 65 W. 1800 N., from 7 to 9:30 p.m. All friends and relatives are invited. Sisler of the groom, Kathy Keetch, will be the maid-of-hono- r, with bridesmaids Melissa Keetch, Melinda, Amy, Jenny Lynn and Joy Anne Pvmm. Best men will be Mark Bonham, Tim Crandall and Gregory Keelch. Special guesls will include grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Pratl, Mr. and Mrs. Morrell Crandall, Mr. and Mrs. Vern Keetch and s , Mrs. Carson Crandall and Mrs. Mary Young. Prenuplial parlies were given by Marilyn Harris, Nancy Furr, Nancy Bullerfield and Lorene Blackburn. Bernice is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary. She was a m k o r of the seminary council and A Cappella Choir. She graduated from Utah State University and LDS Institute. She is now teaching in the Alpine School District. Von also graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary. He played basketball and served on the seminary council. He has served an LDS Mission in the Germany Dusseldorf Mission. Bradshaw, son of LaMar and Delores Bradshaw, Pleasant Grove on Thurs., Nov. 19 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The groom's parents will host a wedding breakfast for the newlyweds after the marriage ceremony at the Lion House in Salt Lake City. An open house will be held that same evening from 7 to 9 at the Bradshaw home, 1704 East Blackhawk, Pleasant Grove. All friends and relatives are invited. Attending the bride will be Gina Homan, Jeri Evans, Susan Lancaster , ; and LaVonneDyck. - , - The groom has asked Chad Bradshaw and Jim Sails to be his best men. Leslie graduated in 1977 from Hanford Union High School. She was active in the Drama Club, a cappella choir and Madrigal Singers. She is a life member of the California Scholastic Federation. She is a senior at BYU majoring in com-munication. Craig graduated from Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary in 1975. While in school, he was active in football, wrestling and was president of the VICA Club. He was Sterling Scholar in Vocational Education. He served an LDS mission in the Green-sboro North Carolina mission. He graduated from BYU in civil engineering and is now working on his masters degree. Prenuptial parties were given by Jeri and Patty Evans, Gina and Brenda Holman, and Kaatje Munnerlyn. Special guests will be the bride's grand-mother, Dora Moen from Whittier, California and the groom's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Durrell K. CARTWRIGHT Senior Citizens Plan Activities The Pleasant Grove Senior Citizens today expressed appreciation to Kay Jacobs and the Eldred Foundation for their financial assistance which has enabled them to have projects they could not otherwise afford. The seniors will have their annual Thanksgiving parly tomorrow, Nov. 20, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Senior Center. The funtastics will be providing the music for dancing. On Dec. 2 the group will attend the "Christmas Around The World" program at BYU. They will leave at 7 p.m. Cost will be $4 for bus fare and tickets. Kiwanis Club Hears Judge Les D. Brown One half of the referrals to the court are from children in single parent homes, said Judge Brown, and 80 percent of the serious crimes come from single-pare- families. Les D. Brown spoke to the Kiwanis club last Thursday night in the Kiwanis room now located in the Security building. His subject was our children and the changes in the law af-fecting our children over the years. He said that many years ago parents . controlled their children. They punished them for their misdeeds and the law of the land supported the parents. He spoke about the present time, pointing to reform schools and laws against the children of this age that have been established, how the correction of children has been gradually taken out of the home and placed upon the community, the schools, the churches, the court system, etc. The parents have somewhat been taken out of the picture of controlling their children, he said. Judge Brown men-tioned the serious in-crease among our children of theft, shoplifting, alcohol, burglaries, drugs and other problems. He mentioned that people do not realize the seriousness of alcohol and the things that they do while under its in-fluence. He mentioned that communication is lacking, and that the prevailing attitude is bad in that children want everything im-mediately that the parents have in the way of material things, without earning llicni |
