I Highland and Alpine Join to Present Joyful Christmas Sounds' Highland and Alpine communities have j joined musical talents to (present "Joyful 'Christmas Sounds" this Saturday, November 28 it 7:30 p.m. in the American Fork tabernacle. Featuring jband, three choirs and m orchestra, the ; tvening will show the many talents of the residents of these cities. Musicians who lave not had an opportunity op-portunity to play their instruments for years j have loved playing in le band and orchestra tith competent : irectors, neighbors and (riends. Last j while teaching a p : Beehive Class she started a service project of gathering clothes for LDS native Chilean missionaries. Through her efforts over 2,000 articles of clothing were shipped to Chili. One of her favorite quotes is from President Lee, "There is no end to the good you can do if you don't care who gets the credit." Jeanne stales, "My idea of a good day is working really hard while I listen to my opera tapes. I love taping good things to listen to and think about." Working alongside Mrs. Home as co-producer co-producer is Grant R. Gifford. Grant is a more recent transplant to Alpine having moved here this year. He built a passive solar home with 5,000 sq. ft. and his only heating source is a wood burning stove. Born and reared in Idaho he married Marlene Choules and they are the parents of six children. Educated at BYU (B.S. Zoology) U of U (M.S. Educational Administration) Ad-ministration) and U of Oregon (D Ed. Educational Administration). Ad-ministration). Grant has taught school at the University of Nevada and was Jr. High School Principal in Tempe, Arizona. While serving as a Bishop and then Counselor in the Tempe Arizona South Stake Presidency, he was President and founder of Old West Development Develop-ment Corp., and built nearly 1,000 homes during 1974-1980. Grant attended last year's presentation of "Joyful Christmas Sounds" and said, "I was surprised at the marvelous quality of the program. It is a pleasure for me to be of some help in producing this great program." Tickets are available at the Alpine Book Store in American Fork Plaza. |
