Show Robert Warnick Talks About Technicall College "If Utah County hopes to have funds for further development develop-ment of the Utah Technical College (UTC) they had best elect Republicans on Nov. 5," according to Robert Warnick, candidate on the Republican ticket for State Senate from North Utah County. Speaking before a group of Lehi residents, Mr. Warnick explained "A recent article in the Provo Daily Herald indicates indi-cates that our Democrat Governor Gov-ernor is opposed to any funds for the new UTC campus this year. This places his fellow Democrats from Utah County in an awkward position as they must either act contrary to the recommendation of the leader of their party or contrary to the needs of Utah County. Mr. Warnick explained further fur-ther that ''my own opponent, Mr. Dean, is in an especially undesirable position in that he belongs to the same party as the governor and is at the same time employed by the Utah Technical College. This will make it very difficult for him to actively crusade for UTC funds without raising charges of conflict of interest and personal gain." "I am totally committed to acquiring a substantial appropriation appro-priation for UTC and will oppose op-pose any appropriation to the medical school without a comparable com-parable appropriation to UTC. (The medical school is asking for over $33 million for future development). The need of the medical school is more a need to reassign priorities than to construct new facilities. If that institution will place greater emphasis on the training of local lo-cal students to be family practitioners prac-titioners the areas need for physicians will be met." "My experience in the field of health care organization and administration and my commitment com-mitment to UTC will enable me to effectively fight for what Utah County deserves," said Mr. Warnick. An executive found this message mes-sage on his. desk: "Your wife called and said to remind you of something which she couldn't remember but thought you would." |
