Show Scout Merit Badge Pow-Wow Set Nov.9,16 23 More than 2,500 Scouts from the Utah National Parks Council Coun-cil will join with some 300 instructors in-structors November 9, 16 and 23 to participate to skill training train-ing classes at the Brigham University sponsored Scout Merit Badge Pow-Wow. A total of 55 classes will be offered and Scouts may selec-three selec-three classes for the 1974 Pow-Wow, Pow-Wow, according to Rulon Dean Skinner, director. Classes will be taught on both the Brigham Young University Uni-versity and Utah Technical College campus. Scouts may select merit badge sessions that are either all at BYU or all at Utah Technical College at Provo. Only those who complete all merit badges requirements individually individu-ally and completely, with the degree of proficiency desired by the Pow-Wow instructor will have their merit badge cards signed by the Pow-Wow. No partial completion slips will be given, according to Skinner. Merit badge classes will range from the popular citizenship citizen-ship clases to computers, wilderness wild-erness survival, space exploration explora-tion and atomic energy. Fingerprinting, Finger-printing, orienteering, wood carving and autmotive safety are also popular and are included inclu-ded in the classes offered. Those who register for swimming swim-ming or lifesaving will work on one merit badge only, spending spend-ing three hours each week at the swimming pool. Life saving sav-ing is open to holders of the swimming merit badge only. Each scout must already know |
