Show Two council slots, 14 takers The Park City Recorder was deluged with last-minute entries in the upcoming municipal elections, replacing the prospect of a lackluster race with pandemonium. By the Tuesday 5 p.m. filing deadline, 14 candidates had filed for two Park City Council seats. Four hopefuls had registered for the mayoral election. In alphabetical order, the candidates for mayor are Stephen K. Dering, William P. Mammen. Hal Taylor and Burnis Watts. The candidates for council are incumbent William H. Coleman, Paul H. Davin, Bill Edwards, David R. Evans, Lyle R. Jackson, Charles G. Latterner, John R. Lehmer, Mary Lehmer, Ann G. MacQuoid, William F. McComb, E. David Novelle, Kristen S. Rogers, John Stavish and Mark Stemler. Due to the large candidate field, a primary election will be held Oct. 8. The runoff will eliminate 10 council candidates and two mayoral candidates. |
