Marilyn Monroe stars in -!!S8!??S this musical comedy about a showbiz show-biz family, along with Dan Dailey, Ethel Merman, Donald O'Connor, Mitzi Gaynor and Johnny Ray. Showtime is Friday at 2 p.m. for 25 cents and 7 p.m. for 50 cents. The library is at 209 East 500 South. -At the Blue Mouse: "Flesh Gordon" is a bawdy spoof of outer-space operas; A Boy and His Dog" follows Vic and his telepathic mutt, Blood, through a post-atomic wilderness; "The Tall Blond Man With One Black Shoe" is the popular French spy spoof; and "The Return of Martin Guerre" stars Gerard Depardieu as a man who claims to be the returned husband of a village woman. The Mouse is at 260 East 100 South. Je utah Media Center ends its series of Howard Hawks comedies with "Ball of Fire," a jazzy version of Snow White in which a burlesque dancer (Barbara Stanwyck) holes up with seven stuffy professors, led by Gary Cooper. It plays Aug. 30 at 7:30 p.m., Aug. 31 at 5:30 and 9:30 p.m. and Sept. 1 at 7:30 p.m. The Robert Altman series also concludes this week with ' 'The Long Goodbye." Elliott Gould plays legendary detective Phillip Marlowe as a cynicalnaive hero out of his league in a corrupt '70s world. It co-stars Henry Gibson, Sterling Hayden and baseball player Jim Bouton. It plays Aug. 30 at 9:30 p.m., Aug. 31 at 7:30 p.m. and Sept. 1 at 5:30 and 9:30 p.m. The films are shown in the auditorium of the Salt Lake Art Center, 20 South West Temple. The Salt Lake Chamber Ensemble plays at the Park City Ski Area behind the ice rink, on Sept. 1 at 7 and 8 : 30 p.m. The Jensen-Woodbury classical guitar duo gives its last concert at Midway's Wasatch Mountain State Park, west of Heber, at 8 p.m. Country singer Johnny Duncan plays at Lagoon Aug. 30 and 31, in two shows each night (7 and 9:30 p.m.) Admission is free and are available at Arctic Circle restaurants. Cost for the show is $5 (adults), $4 (seniors) and $3 (children. ) The Intermountain Actors Ensemble concludes the Park City Shakespeare Festival with "The Merchant of Venice" on Thursday, Aug. 29, "As You Like It" on Friday, Aug. 30 and "Macbeth" on Saturday, Aug. 31. The Hansen Planetarium, 15t South State in Salt Lake presents the star show "Islands in the Sky" Monday-Friday at 2, 4:30 and 7 p.m., Saturday at 4 : 30 and 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 and 4 : 30 p.m. "Laserium Starship" follows the 7 p.m. shows, and also plays at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Another laser show, "Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon," plays at 9 p.m., Thursday-Saturday. The 3rd Annual Utah Pilots Association Fly-In and Air Shows takes place Labor Day weekend, Aug. 31-Sept. 2 at West Jordan's Airport H2 (7400 South 4490 West), featuring the television helicopter "Airwolf." Daily barbecues and a Big Band Dance will be held Saturday and Monday nights. Admission is adults $5, children $3, and $15 for a family.
