Deckert, a resident of Park City for 10 years, will fill the vacancy created by the recent resignation of Bill Mammen. After continuing his education edu-cation at Cal-Poly at Pamona Deckert came to Park City as a draftsman for Greater Park City Co. He later went to work for J.J. Johnson Associates Asso-ciates where he helped with the engineering and master plan for Deer Valley. For the past five years the new planner has been involved as a partner in Alliance Engineering. Deckert said he applied for the post because he feels his background in land planning could be of value to Park City's long-range land-use planning effort. "I also feel it is important for everyone to serve their community at some point by serving in a public office," Deckert said. Deckert has spent years on the other side of the Planning Commission presenting pre-senting projects for his clients. Now he'll have the opportunity of a new perspective pers-pective from the other side of the planning table. Steve Deckert. |
