Show New City Council Schedule For the second time this year City Councilmen have altered their regular Park City meeting schedule. Beginning June 4, the discussion portion of the weekly meeting will start at 5 p.m. with public input and the regular session getting under way at 8 p.m. Previously, the discussion session began at 2 p.m., public input at 4 p.m. and the regular meeting at 5 p.m. Prior to that, the regular meetings began at 7 p.m. The decision to return to evening meetings was made during last week's discussion session. According to City Manager Arlene Loble, Councilmen hope the evening meetings will draw more public participation. Also the evening schedule will permit Councilman Rich Martinez to attend more of the discussion sessions. Martinez had complained earlier that work commitments prevented hi... from attending the sessions held during the day. Councilmen admit the new schedule is on a trial basis and add there is a possibility they could return at some point to the afternoon meetings. Until the new schedule can be finalized by ordinance, the regular City Council meeting will begin at 5 p.m. with discussion and executive sessions following. Previously vise sessions preceded the regular meeting. |
