Show Fish Regulations Changed The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR) will pay you a grand if you squeal on anyone who puts live fish of any kind for stocking purposes in any body of water in the state without approval. Of course, the information must result in a conviction, but that's just what the division wants, especially after some laggard threw carp in Mantua Reservoir. That stupid maneuver forced for-ced the state to poison that . reservoir and close it for two years. The reward offer was one of many new changes in wildlife wild-life and fishing regulations adopted by the DWR at its Nov. 17 meeting. Here are some of the highlights: -The general season for 1983 will be May 28 through Nov. 30 and for 1984, June 2 through Nov. 30. --The two fish over 13 inches limit has been removed re-moved along with the artificial artifi-cial lurefly regulation after the two large fish are caught on all but the Weber River between the Wanship Dam and the Echo Reservoir backwater. The size limit remains in effect on the Provo River. -Now your kid can possess a full adult limit if you buy your kid between ages six and eleven an adult license. --The Provo is open to whitefishing for the 11 month season between County Road 241 and State Road 35. -The infamous cisco will be running again this year on Bear Lake, but the limit is now 30 fish, down from before. --You may only keep eight channel cats taken from the Bear River. --Large and smallmouth aggregate limits have been reduced to six fish larger than 12 inches, except at Lake Powell. --Starvation Reservoir is off-limits to bass fishing until the bass population becomes situated. --Artificial lures and flies only are the new rule on the West Fork of the Duchesne. -And Deer Creek Reservoir becomes a year-round water for walleye and yellow perch. Trout may not be kept. For information on all new wildlife and fishing proclamation procla-mation changes and some new rules concerning the possession of live wildlife, contact the DWR at 533-9333. |
