Show JlSk LindaSue's lw Corner Everybody loves a good snack! And i tasty snack doesn't have to be bad for you... it can be a healthy, sensible addition to your diet and taste great, too. One of the all-time favorite snacks is the apple. Young and old alike go for the crunch of a fresh apple at this time of year. With varieties from the Red Delicious to the Jonathan, there's one to suit every taste. For more substantial snacks you might want to try these ideas from the International Apple Institute. Apple Tidbits: Slice apples into wedges, sprinkle with lemon to preserve color and wrap with thin strips of prosciutto or ham. Secure with toothpicks and serve with cocktails. Apple Wedgies: For after-school treats for four, cut wedges from four apples and fill spaces with a mixture of an 8-ounce package of cream cheese blended with a tablespoon of honey; add raisins and nuts. A filling snack! Apple Sparkler: In a large pitcher, combine a 1 -quart container of apple juice or fresh cider with a 10-ounce bottle of club soda and a tablespoon of lime juice.
