Show Summer Evenings, Guitars, and Midway: a Magical Combination concerts originated with Mr. Jensen, himself a native of Heber Valley. He explaines, "I love the summer evenings in Midway, it's such a refreshing change from the. city. It seemed like the perfect atmosphere for our music and the Visitor Center is really an ideal setting. It has just the right intimacy with wonderful acoustics and it looks out on a magnificent mountain scene. It's exciting for us to see how much the audience enjoys it." Cont. to 6 Again this summer, music lovers will have a chance to hear one of Utah's most popular musical ensembles in one of the state's most beautiful settings when the JensenWoodbury Duo performs per-forms at Midway. Classical guitarists Milton Jensen and Todd Woodbury will appear every Saturday evening in August at the Visitor Center of the Wasatch Mountain State Park. All concerts will begin at 8:00 p.m. and admission is $5.00 per person or $10.00 per family at the door. For the past several years the duo has been criss-crossing the state winning new fans for the Classical guitar wherever they play. Their music has the kind of broad appeal which makes them equally at home in the small rural towns and the large cities, and both Milton and Todd have a special knack for communicating that puts their audiences at ease. This is the second of what they hope will be an ongoing summer series in Utah's Mountainland. A Magical Combination Cont. from 5 Both musicians consider the concerts a highlight of their performing season. Mr. Woodbury is also a native of Utah's mountains; he grew up in Park City before the days of ski lifts and condominiums. He puts it this way, "Milt and I have traveled to many beautiful places but we agree that there's something special about performing in Midway. Mid-way. For us, the concerts are a time to be very relaxed and informal with the audience. The ambience of the place creates a mood of friendliness friendli-ness and sharing. Last year a few people came back several times and we got to know them quite well by the end of the summer. It's just a great place to play for people." The Visitor Center is located near the golf course in the northwest corner of Heber Valley, less than an hour away from downtown Salt Lake. The Homestead is just down the road and, of course, there are many other attractions in the valley such as the Heber Creeper and Deer Creek Resevoir. So, if you're planning to be in the area, or were just looking for the perfect excuse to take a beautiful evening drive, be sure to catch the Jensen Woodbury Duo this summer in Midway, you'll be glad you did.
