After : one Year in the Salt Lake valley, i he owner of Park City's Inside Story decided that Park. City's mountain atmosphere, sense of community, and history was i he "place to call home". The consequence? Donna Lewis now operates a design studio, gift shop, and expresses her co m m i I me n t to community affairs!! - The daughter of an interior designer. Donna feels that her current occupation is almost intuitive., and. perhaps even inherited from her father! Sharing his: interest and talent in space, color, environment, and people she quickly learn-, cd the trade. Although most of Donna's career commitment has been in thcarea of'interior design, she includes elementary element-ary school tcaching.the ..importing; exporting and distributing dis-tributing of Mexican textiles; and an assortment of other "people oriented" jobs on her vita. Donna decided to return to the design trade when she learned that 586 Main Street was for sale and converted the former mortuary into the Inside Story in 1979. Eager to reflect the history and character char-acter of Park City in the shop, its contents combine antique and contemporary furnishings and accessories. The store, whose woodburning stove and dogs contribute to its cozy atmosphere, contains a full bath boutique, a gourmet shop, home accessories, drap-erv drap-erv and wall coverings, and . furnishings! Because of the limited space Donna is selective select-ive about the items she : displays, but quickly emphasizes empha-sizes that special orders from a multitude of venders is possible Considerate of the needs of the local shopper and. tourists, the shop contains unique items at reasonable prices. In addition to the gift-accessory gift-accessory shop Donna maintains main-tains a full design gallery and provides consultation in interior inter-ior design. Experience and reputation makes the Inside Story capable of purchasing items to complete any household. house-hold. Donna stresses the importance of "responding to the environment created by the specific people who create it", and combines new items and color with existing furnishing furn-ishing and architecture to create that special look. Expressing her creative talents in many ways. Donna enjoys writing and anticipates compiling some of her "impressions" "im-pressions" of the people and places she's come to know while living in Park City. She considers her special friends -io be the "old timer's" of the community and enjoys con-versing-with them on past or contemporary issues. When the time allows Donna enjoys traveling, remodeling houses, and watching people! On top of all of this, the activities of Korcv. a PC High School drama enthusiast, and Kenton.; Kent-on.; an amateur down-hill ski competitor, keep their mother busy. Donna's oldest daughter. daught-er. Karrin. attends school in San Diego.
