Show jMeineiitFy r Arto Program Hearing The public is invited to ; attend an open meeting to I learn about and provide input ! into an Integrated Arts Pro-Igram Pro-Igram for elementary and ' middle schools. In the future, you might visit one of five or six elementary schools in Northeastern North-eastern Utah and see students learning about Australia by singing Australian songs; Or you might peek in on an ' elementary physical education class and observe a group of boys and girls doing an African Dance. You might even be fortunate enough to ; drop in on a teacher inservice workshop where the teachers are being led through a dance routine by dance specialists from the Provo Integrated Arts Project. This will all be part of a project for which nine Northeastern Utah districts are seeking funding. Recent; research has shown that students may learn not only the arts, but also mathmatics, science, language lan-guage arts, reading, social studies etc. more effectively ; by using the arts such as music, dance, drama, visual . art as lerning vehicles. An application for a grant to . fund this Integrated Arts Program in five or six pilot schools in the Northeastern Utah Region will be submitted for funding by Northeastern ; Utah Educational Services which serves Daggett, Ducjiesne, Morgan, North' Summit, Park City, Rich, South Summit, Uintah and Wasatch School Districts. The public meeting will be -held at the Northeastern Utah Educational Services building at 755 South Main Street in Heber at 7:00pm. on Thursday, Thurs-day, April 10, 1980.
