A five-and-a-half foot puppet will be the featured character in Tars of. Joy Puppet,. Theatre's; production of The Happy Prince" to be presented present-ed in the Art Center's main gallery,, Friday,' April 18, at 7:30pm. The puppet is the creation ' of Reg Bradley, one of the nine human, members who help to form Tears of Joy. The life-size figure was built specifically for the starring role in "The Happy Prince," a "play based on Oscar Wilde's . short storv. "Hie Prince comes to life " with J eyelids that ' open and close, arms that move and a head that bobs. Few casual observers would ever suspect that this royal figure was constructed using items com- " mon to many garages and attics. Croquet balls were used to give the Prince shoulder joints, pipes were used throughout the frame, and tightening nuts were used for the elbos joints. Builder Bradley estimates, that the creation of" the Prince took about a month., Tickets for "The Happy Prince" are $1.50 for children and $2.50 for adults. |
