Show Attend Games The Park City High School Basketball team is having an impressive season on the court. After losing a close game to top-ranked Dugway December 14. the Miners surged forward, winning six games in a row; and nearly all of their victories were by large margins. Park High now has a 7-1 record. Predictions are always dangerous, but even by conservative standards, it appears almost certain that the Miners will advance to the State Tournament. Our concern now is not so much the performance of the players on the team, but rather the low attendance record during the past four home games. Of course, there are the avid fans, many of whom are parents of the players, who attend games like clock-work both at home and away. But we ... would like to see more members of the community attend the games, and by doing so. demonstrate your support for the local high school. Besides boosting the morale of the players, you will also be able to watch a very good basketball team in action. For several years Park High did not have a good basketball team; in fact, it was miserable. Coach Bruce Reid has helped to turn that dismal record around, particularly this year. One fan said following a recent game, "Isn't it nice to be winning?" Yes. it is nice to be winning, and it would be even nicer if the stands were packed to watch a winning team. The Miners play North Rich here Friday night (Varsity 7:30: J. V. 5:45pm). Your seat is waiting for you. We hope you decide to fill it. |
