Ford and Halverson both testified that they had put the blacking on the toy's face merely as a Jcke and that they had not Idea that it would Injure the lad in any way Ford testified that he had often spilled the same liquid on his own skin and had ox-1 ox-1 erlenced no difficulty in removing Ic The appearance of the victim's face, which si 111 showed the effects of the application, which occurred on November Novem-ber I, was sufficient evidence of the seriousness of the alleged joke and the court was inclined to deal with It as an assault of a criminal nature. |
