Show CROSSCOUNTRY FLIGHTS New York, July 18. Among the crops-country fllghtH for which prlw will be offered In tho international aviation meet at Garden City this fall, are the following: A flight from Garden City to an! i around the Metropolitan tower, Ne York, and return. A croas-country flight from Garden City to Greenwich and return, a to tal distance of 52 miles, which must be made within one hour without stops. A 224-mlle flight from Garden City to Montauk light, at th eastern end of Long Island, thence around through the Brooklyn borouch hall at the western end of the island and return to Garden City. The manner of selecting the team of Three Americans to defend the lc ternational speed trophy in October 22 against tho challenging French trio, will be decided this week. Glenn H. Curtlss. as winner of the trophT for the United States at Rhelms last August, will be accorded a place oa the American team without the for mality of entering elimination try-outs. try-outs. An elimination race probably will be held to choose bis teammates. |
