Show ELVAUDA LAIDJTO REST A multitude of sorrowing relatives and friends gathered at the Seventh ward meeting house at two o'clock yesterday afternoon to attend the funeral of Elva May Manda. the young girl who died so suddenly a week ago while visiting with her mother In the old home In Iowa. Bishop Miles L. Jones conducted the services which wore unusually impressive im-pressive owing to the wide acqualnt-rnce acqualnt-rnce of the young lady and the large number of friends who attended to pay her a last tribute ot love and esteem. Special music was beautifully rendered rend-ered by the ward cbolr and friends of the deceased who contributed solo numbers. Among the latter were Miss Artie Simpson who sang "Sometime We'll Understand"' and Miss Pauline Maddock. who sang "Your Sweet Little Elva Has Left You.. Mrs. Tlllle Poul-tor Poul-tor and Mrs. Polly Jones sang a beautiful beau-tiful arranged duet, "Jesus Is Calling." and "Ob, My Father" was contributed by Mrs. Marlon Clark. Tho speakers were Bishop Miles L. Jones, Asael Farr and Mark Farr, each of whom spoke feelingly of the striking personality of the deceased, who, although little more than, a child in years, had shown a most unusual Interest In churchly affairs. She Joined Join-ed the church of Latter Day Saints of her own vlolltlon and had taken a nost prominent part during her brief membership, being particularly active in the Juvenile primary department. The floral tributes were profuse and spoke eloquently of the love and respect with which the deceased was held A largo cortege followed the casket to Oeden City cemetery where the body was laid to rest. Mrs. Manda, mother of the dead child. Is prostrated with grief and was unable to attend the services, being be-ing constantly under the caro of physicians. |
