Show co UNBROKEN SLEEP OF THIRTY-TWO THIRTY-TWO YEARS. t After an unbroken deep extending over thirty-two years. Caroline Kron-boeck Kron-boeck has awakened to find the world changed considerably. This extraordinary extraor-dinary case of somnolence has occurred occur-red at Oknoe, a village near Moen-steras. Moen-steras. Sweden, and is described by Dr. Frederstroem of the Stockholm Hospital. Caroline Kronloeck fell nleep when she was 11, in the winter win-ter of 1S77-7S, and remained until recently re-cently in a comatose condition. Consciousness Con-sciousness returned to her suddenly. She did not know where she was; dld'nt recognize her father or the room where she had lain for thlrtj-two thlrtj-two years. Presently she felt hungry and asked for a baked herring her favorite dish when she was a young girl. She said she felt tired and somewhat some-what dazed. Her memory came back by degrees, how she walked half a mile to school, the name of the teacher and thoso of her school friends and what the local parson looked like. She remembered re-membered having a toothache, but could not say whether she had suffered suf-fered from headaches or whether she had hurt her head. As to her long period of suspended consciousness her mind Is a complete blank. It took her a month to learn to walk again and her eyes remain very sensitive to lirht. but her appetite was excellent from the time of her awakening and she has since slept normally every night. Strange to say she has forgotten for-gotten nothing of what she learned at school and at once wanted to go on with her lessons. She showed good mental aptitude and has just been confirmed by her Lutheran pastor New York Sun. oo |
