Mrs Hlackword was arrested yesterday yester-day morning a she stepped from an eaatbound Southern Pacific, train, on a telegraphic complaint stnt the Og-den Og-den officers by the authorities of Sacramento. It is allegel that the woman Is wanted for the theft of S2,G00 worth of Jewelry. Posed As Servant Girl. While poalng as a servant girl, tho woman Is said to have robbed tho home of W. E. Gerber, president of the California National bank of Sacramento, Sac-ramento, and succeeded In making her ecape. Two thousand dollars' worth nf loot, consisting of six pieces of Jewelry set with diamonds le missing miss-ing and It la possible that fhc woman has beeu arrested and confessed all. While tho officers were on their way to Ileno to arrest the woman she became aware of the fact and escaped. Learning this upon their arrival there they sent tbo telegram to this city which resulted In her arrest. Mrs. Blackword displayed no emotlon when placed under arrest and went peaceably peace-ably to the police BtatJou. " Would Not Make Statement. Upon the arrival of tho detectives the woman was submitted to a rigid cross-examination, but little Information Informa-tion could be secured regarding her probable disposition of the diamonds. They ordered a thorough search for tho gems, and Mrs. Anderson, wife of Jailer Anderson, searched the woman very carefully. Every article of clothing worn by Mrs. Blackword was carefully examined, and she was even forced to take down her hair, but tbo diamonds were not located. A similar search of tho big Bteamer trunk was equally futile. The trunk, however, contained a varied assortment assort-ment of expensive, clothes and other costly articles taken from the Sacramento Sacra-mento banker's home. Another attempt at-tempt was made last evening to secure se-cure some Information from tbo woman wom-an as to the location of the dlamouds, but It was as fruitless as the first.
