Show H'DERjfTOTT FEIGNING INSANITY District Attorney N. J. Hams has filed on Information against John McDcrmott, charging him with forgery. forg-ery. The Information states that on November 19. 1910, McDcrmott uit-tcred uit-tcred a check on the Plncree National bank for $26, signing the name of James Halverson to it, and that he afterwards represented to M. .1 Lcaltt that it was a genuine check. McDcrmott attempted to make his way out of the county jail Wednesday night by means of a wooden key mado by himself. Ho also left a note to his wife telling her he expected to kill himself and that he had Insane blood In his veins. Today he is endeavoring to carry out the insanity bluff, as the ofticers put It, by acting queerly and trying to make the officers believe that he has gone Insane.. When the officers come near him. he exclaims: "Take that gun away and don't draw it on me again.'" He nlro demands that the doors of the prison be immediately unlocked The officers say they nre certain the fellow is feigning Insanity. ou |
