L. Tomorrow will be the ofilcial day for the making of the changes on the Salt Lake division of the Southern Pacific. Pa-cific. Superintendent Edward C. Man-son Man-son goes to Salt Lake to assume the position of general superintendent of the Oregon Short Line; Thomas V. Rowlands becomes superintendent of the Salt I.ake division, and Fred East-ou East-ou becomes senior assistant superintendent. superin-tendent. ' who succeeds Joseph Young as gen-oral gen-oral superintendent on the Southern Pacific, passed through Ogden last night en route to San Francisco, where ho will assume his new duties tomorrow. Superintendent Manson worked Sunday and Monday In his office at the Union depot, cleaning up the affairs of his office before going to Salt Lake to.becln his new duties. He spent most of today at the general offices of the Short Line In the Deseret New3 block in Salt Lake City, having the affairs af-fairs of tho general superintendent's oflice turned over to him. Superintendent Rowlands accompanied accompan-ied by Assistant Superintendents Fitz-1 gera'.d and Fisher and Secretary J i Rauch, leave this evening r.n No. 5, for n trip of inspection over the entire en-tire division and the branches. Tho trip will probably occupy three days. Senior Assistant Superintendent Easton assumed his duties today la the superintendent's office at the Un-lon Un-lon depot. He com?? to the new position posi-tion with a thorough understanding I of the conditions of the entire division, divis-ion, having served as roadmaster under un-der Superintendents Noble and Scott, and trainmaster and assistant superintendent super-intendent under Manson. Like Man- 1 son ond Rowlands, Easton Is a competent- official who has gradually climbed the ladder through hard work and perseverance. He has the happy faculty of making friends and these are numbered by thr? hundreds among the "boys" on the division from Sparks to Ogdeu and down on the branches.
