Show . THE RACE MEET. The general comment is that the present race meet is the best Ogden has had. The new management had declared against allow-ing allow-ing the leaser of the track to be manager, owner, bookmaker and starter. They insisted on the removal of the least suspicion of collusion col-lusion between those in control of the meet and the owners of the horses and the bookmakers, and the indications are they have been successful. Clow and Applegate, the well-known horsemen of national reputation, rep-utation, are the leasers, being represented by Roy Shumway, a Salt Lake business man. In the. judge's stand is Judge Murphy of Ogden. Og-den. the greatest lover of hor6es in the intermountain country and an enthusiast on the sport of kings. With strong local representation, the management of the race track has been above reproach, and, under un-der those conditions, horse racing is not only popular but an enjoy. ' able diversion. |
