Show BREVITIES Death In Plain City John Pan-vers Pan-vers an old and respected resident of Plain City, died this morning nt 9 o'clock, at the family residence, at that place, of a complication of diseases, dis-eases, after on illness of a number of weeks. The deceased was born in England about 75 years ago, and came to Utah in 1885. Five years after comiDg to this Btafe he located at Plain City. Ho Is survived by a wife, four sons and two daughters. Tho funeral services will be held at the Plain City meeting house at 2 p. m Fletcher Not Guilty Late yesterday yester-day afternoon the Jury in the caso of the Stato against Thomas Fletcher, the negro charged wlih assault with a deadly weapon, returned a verdict of not guilty. Hag Boought 27,000 Sheep Fred Strubol. representing the Sam Levey Packing company of San Francisco, has been buying mutton In Ogden for the last four months. He says that he purchased and shipped to tho California Cali-fornia metropolis during that time 27,000 head of mutton, the mo6t of which were bou?ht from Ogden sheep raisers. . Mormon Converts Tomorrow morning morn-ing thirty-nine Mormon converts will pass through Ogden, en route from Europe, to Salt I-ake City, from which place they will be sent to various vari-ous parts of the state and adjoiniug states, to make their future homes. Superintendents Meet The superintendents superin-tendents of the various factories of tho Amalgamated Sugar company aro holding their annual conference in Ogden with the general officers of tho company. Matters pertaining to tho operation ot the factories and tho next fall campaign will bo discussed. Tho conference will last two days, aud is being held in the ofUce of L. R. Eccles, general superintendent of the factories of the company.
